History
Since its inception in 1982, New York Business Group on Health (NYBGH) has spearheaded important initiatives, conducted breakthrough research and launched innovative programs that brought meaningful change to the healthcare marketplace for employers in the New York metropolitan area.
By launching HealthPass, NYBGH helped small businesses provide affordable, high-quality health insurance options to thousands of employees who might otherwise not have any coverage at all. Our quality improvement programs have brought accountability to the marketplace and provide employers with data and analysis to make informed decisions. NYBGH’s education and networking programs have allowed our members to gain insights from industry experts and thought leaders, and share best practices with their peers.
In response to demand for these services from employers in neighboring states, in November 2010, NYBGH expanded its mission and changed its name to the Northeast Business Group on Health (NEBGH).
By increasing the number of employers participating in the organization, this expansion will increase NEBGH’s leverage to improve the healthcare delivery system, provide members with better information, and bring expertise and services to more employers in the region.
