Candice Sherman was appointed CEO of Northeast Business Group on Health (NEBGH) in 2017, after serving as the organization’s Chief Operating Officer for four years. Candice sets NEBGH’s strategic direction in concert with the board of directors and oversees all initiatives including grant-funded projects, educational programs and conferences. She has led NEBGH’s work in the areas of social determinants of health, racial health equity, vaccine friendliness, mental health, cancer and caregiving. She serves as board chair for NEBGH subsidiary HealthPass, a small business health insurance exchange. 

Just prior to her roles at NEBGH, Candice was Chief Operating Officer for St. John’s Well Child and Family Center in South Los Angeles, one of the largest Federally-Qualified Health Clinics in the country. Her business experience includes leading business units at a Wall Street consultancy, Dun & Bradstreet and Thomson Financial (now Thomson Reuters), and building two technology startups as Chief Operating Officer. She has provided strategic and fundraising assistance to a range of nonprofits throughout her career.

Previously, Katherine worked as an early stage investor at Index Ventures, where she focused on investments in digital health and education. Prior to that, she was a journalist, writing for The Economist from Southeast Asia, New York, and London. In 2009, she worked with former U.S. Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson, helping him write his memoirs about the U.S. financial crisis.

Katherine received her B.A. from the Honors College at the University of Michigan and her MSc from the London School of Economics. She currently lives in New York City with her husband and son.

Marco Diaz is Senior Vice President, Global Head of Benefits for News Corp. He is responsible for setting the overarching US benefits strategy in conjunction with the various business divisions with oversight to UK and Australian operations as well. Benefits include a broad suite of Health & Welfare plans, retirement plans such as defined contribution, defined benefit and non-qualified.

Prior to News Corp, Marco worked for Thomson Reuters 2000 where he oversaw the Americas benefits function.

Adam Entenberg is vice president of benefits at Viacom Inc. and leads all aspects of the company’s benefits programs and is involved in strategic planning and development of new benefits programs and initiatives. Before joining Viacom, Adam was director of benefits and HRIS for Adecco, a senior consultant with Ernst & Young, human resources manager at Tower Air, and a pension administrator at Mellon Bank.

Adam received his bachelor’s degree from the University at Albany, State University of New York. In addition, he earned an MBA in finance from Baker College Center for Graduate Studies in Michigan.

Dr. Cunningham-Hill is an employee health expert known for his ability to create, identify and implement high-quality workplace health programs including prevention and screening, chronic illness interventions, and mental health and wellbeing initiatives. His broad occupational medicine and public health experience encompasses addressing chronic diseases impacting employers, employees and communities within the context of  social, cultural and racial determinants of health.

Mark has served as the Medical Director for Northeast Business Group on Health since early 2018. Until 2017, he served as Senior Director, Global Solutions Center and Head of Occupational Medicine at Johnson & Johnson, Inc . At J&J, Mark led a team of experts covering occupational medicine, health and wellness, personal energy management, EAP and mental wellbeing, and work-life effectiveness, and supported regional operational groups delivering health services to 135,000 employees in 120 companies. Prior to seven years at J&J, Mark spent 17 years at GlaxoSmithKline in both London and Philadelphia, including as Head of Global Operations, Employee Health Management.

Mark received his MB ChB, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Manchester University in the UK. He is a Fellow of both the American College of Occupational & Environmental Medicine, and the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, London.

Dr. Burton was the Corporate Medical Director for American Express from 2009 to 2017.  Previously he was the Corporate Medical Director for JPMorgan Chase and it’s legacy banks from 1982 to 2009.

He has been the recipient of several awards including the Health Achievement Award from the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM), the Jonas Salk Health Leadership Award from the March of Dimes, the Innovation Award from Mental Health Innovation in Health and Productivity Award from National Business Group on Health (NBGH).

Dr. Burton is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is an associate professor of clinical medicine at Northwestern University Medical School. He is also an adjunct professor of Environmental & Occupational Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago. 

Dr. Burton was previously Chairman of the Board of the Midwest Business Group on Health and was a member of the Board of Directors of the National Business Group of Health.

He has co-authored over 100 articles on various aspects of employee health and productivity.

Adam Wolfberg, MD, MPH, is an obstetrician, and the chief medical officer at Ovia Health. Previously, he worked in medical affairs at athenaHealth and Ariosa Diagnostics. He is also a founder and chief medical officer of Mindchild Medical, a fetal diagnostics company. Before going to medical school he was a print journalist and worked briefly in non-profit health administration. He blogged for the Huffington Post and writes for magazines and websites including the Boston Globe Magazine, Slate.com, and WSJ.com. His first book, Fragile Beginnings,was published by Beacon Press in 2012.

Dr. Shin received her BA degree from M.I.T. and her medical degree from SUNY Downstate. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Medical Center and then went to the University of Rochester Medical Center for fellowship training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and pelvic pain.  She completed additional training in advanced robotic surgery at Montefiore Medical Center.  Dr. Shin joined the faculty at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in 2012 where she is the Director of Pelvic Pain and Benign Robotics as well as Associate Director of the AAGL Fellowship.  Dr. Shin has expertise in performing a wide range of advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures for complex gynecologic conditions.  She has special interests in the management of endometriosis, fibroids, and adenomyosis.

Mr. Squires is a benefits attorney with over 20 years of experience.  Currently he oversees all benefit plans and programs at Corning Incorporated for over 16,000 employees and retirees.  Mr. Squires has a focus on benefits strategy, design, implementation and administration as well as cost and risk mitigation.  Prior to joining Corning, he was the Northeast Compensation and Benefits leader for Grant Thornton, located in New York City and a Senior Manager in the Performance and Rewards Practice at Ernst & Young located in Mclean, VA, Detroit, Michigan and Cleveland, Ohio.  Mr. Squires began his career as an Associate Attorney in the Employee Benefits Department at the law firm of Ulmer & Berne  in Cleveland Ohio.

Mr. Squires received his BA from Syracuse University in 1993 and his JD from Case Western Reserve University in 1996. He is admitted to the practice law in New York and Ohio.

Lindsey Conon is a lead consultant and manages our strategic partnerships for maternity, fertility, health engagement and musculoskeletal vendors.  Her current responsibilities include leading strategy development and partnering with emerging health technology companies to bring needed solutions to market on behalf of Willis Towers Watson’s employer clients. Lindsey has considerable experience providing consulting expertise to large, sophisticated clients in a variety industries and has also worked as a specialist on the health management team.  Lindsey is also a member of Willis Towers Watson’s Health Imagination Team (HI) that is focused on furthering a culture of innovation with Willis Towers Watson and the health marketplace.

Before joining Willis Towers Watson, Lindsey worked as a consultant in total rewards at a global management consultancy and accounting firm where she focused on mergers, acquisitions and spin-offs.

Lindsey has a Master of Business Administration in entrepreneurship and innovation, digital marketing and business analytics from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in the Quantitative Foundations for Health Policy Decision Making from Duke University.
