Nisha I. Parikh, MD, MPH
Dr. Parikh is a preventive and noninvasive cardiologist. She is the System Director of the Women’s Heart Program at the Northwell Cardiovascular Institute and Director of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Katz Institute for Women's Health. She is Associate Professor of Cardiology, Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. She received her undergraduate and master's degree in public health from the University of California, Berkeley, and her medical degree from New York Medical College. She completed residency in internal medicine at Tufts Medical Center and cardiology fellowship at Harvard Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She also completed a research fellowship in cardiovascular epidemiology at the Framingham Heart Study. Prior to joining Northwell Health in 2023, she was an academic researcher and clinician at UCSF where she led studies sponsored by the NIH and American Heart Association. From 2021-2023, she was the cardiology deputy editor for UpToDate/ Wolters Kluwer covering topics related to women’s health, arrhythmia and CVD prevention. As a volunteer for the AHA, she chaired the first comprehensive statement sponsored by the AHA on adverse pregnancy outcomes and CVD in women, is currently author on the AHA heart disease and stroke statistics update and on the planning committee for scientific sessions 2024. She has published over 80 peer reviewed scientific studies.
